Typically, you will want to match the width of the range. For example, you will need a 30" hood for a 30" range. If you have a range in an island, we recommend oversizing the unit (36" hood for a 30" range). For better overall performance, it is not a bad idea to oversize the hood in any case (This is typically done for open-concept designs without any cabinets on the side).
